HAUL OF 13 MEDALS FOR THE ITALIAN TWIRLING TEAM

There is no time to get some air and here you are some national athletes, like Silvia Tarabbia and Elisa Matozzo, projected from the Wurzburg German environment, where it took place the European Cup 2014, to the Sestriere mountains, where yesterday started the second to last pre-world cup meeting set in Nottingham (7-10 August 2014): "Tired but happy - said smiling Silvia Tarabbia - back from the gold medal won in the Team event with my club, the historical Santa Cristina. We were second place after the semi-final and to beat all the other teams in the end is a big satisfaction. We valued the success a lot and the joy

was overwhelming. A boost in confidence during this mountain meeting. Even the tiredness (we landed in the night between Sunday and Monday at 4 and we left again at 6:30 towards Sestriere) is felt less".

"The Wurzburg results - said Massimo Scotti and Sabrina Prade, the Italian coaches - were great, both for medal numbers, 13, and the placement just before the podium. Compared to previous competitions, we take away some gold medals from our direct opponents, the French athletes, demonstrating the great outcome of the event. Even the base of the organization grows up, thanks to the clubs. In the technical field we focused our work on the tip of the organization, neglecting the base. Clearly the fresh air breathed in Federazione does good in a "waterfall" way. Now, in Sestriere, we will work hard to maintain a good shape and focus, fundamental perspectives in order to reach Nottingham at best conditions. Tomorrow there will be training in the athletics tracks of Stadio del Colle, under Roberta Bartolomei oversight. The upland training will strengthen the athletes in order to face next step in the best shape". The training guest of yesterday was the Federal President Franco Ferraresi, pleased by Wurburg results and the hospitality received in Sestriere. Yesterday, the Rete 7 Piemonte interviewed the Sestriere mayor Walter Marin and some athletes.
